I like the idea of painting icing on with a brush. Beside being easier to make details, I think it would also be easier for kids to work with. After I made my sugar cookies this year, I saw a news story about some kind of powdered food coloring that looked great. You only need to mix it with a little almond extract (not vanilla or the color will be altered), you can paint it on the cookies and it comes in all sorts of colors. I'm going to have to see if the Chocolate Duck carries it. With any luck, my cookies can look almost as good as yours next year! What is Wilton Paste Color?
